U.S. Charges Chinese army personnel of cyberspying

WASHINGTON —The Depart Justice said on Monday it had charged five individuals in Chi People’s Liberation Army in connection with stealing trade secrets from some of the large American companies, includin Westinghouse, United States St and Alcoa.

The move marked a rare insta the United States charging for government employees with economic espionage, and it inc the tensions between America Chinese officials who have acc each other in public and in pri using military assets to initiate and cyberattacks.

The authorities said that the fi had worked at a 12-story whit tower on a Chinese Army base outskirts of Shanghai that was identified in a report last year source for many attacks on th American government and corporations.

According to the report, which released by the American secu firm Mandiant, the attacks we coming from Chinese hacking groups, known to many of the victims in the United States as “Comment Crew” or “Shangha Group,” that were based in th building.
