Breaking News: Boko Haram Kills Several
Studens Going To Wrrite JAMB

What is wrong with Boko Haram and their sponsors: why
are they making human life worthless?

As you read this, scores of students travelling to write
JAMB exam in Borno State have been reportedly killed by
the dreaded Boko Haram sect. They were among several
persons that lost their lives in multiple attacks that were
unleashed by the sect in four communities.

A senator from the area said: ”What happened in
Borno was beyond understanding. It is a must for me to
speak since the people lives are involved and they are
my people. All these are happening in my constituency
and it will be wrong to keep quiet. I feel so much
pained and would not have spoken but definitely my
conscience will not let me do that.”

The Senator who is representing Borno Central in the
Senate, Zannah Ahmed, on Friday accused the military of
complicity in the latest attack where he said that 210
people were killed in attacks on four towns.
The towns included Dikwa, Kala Balge, Gambulga and
Gwoza.

The senator claimed that the attackers were all dressed in
military uniforms and spoke English language. This was a
departure from the Hausa and Kanuri language spoken by
the Boko Haram insurgents.

He even lamented that authorities of the military post in
Gamboru, which purportedly received a distressed call from
the people of Kala Balge avoided the town, claiming that
it was not in its area of command.

But what is really going on? Is this Boko Haram or some
powerful people just trying to reduce population?

The Nigerian boy who tried to lobby himself to the queens palace

The man, who has identified himself as Tosin Odunaiya, a
23-year-old Nigerian who came to Britain illegally, said
he ‘presumed’ that the Royal Family would welcome him
into the palace.
But he was stopped at the gate before the guardsman’s
dramatic intervention, which caused his temper to flare.
Speaking to The Sun, he said: ‘I wanted to speak with the
Queen and presumed the Royal Family would have
welcomed me as their lost son.
Odunaiya, who claims the soldier, a member of the
Coldstream Guards, ‘didn’t scare me’ said: ‘I was shouting
louder and louder when the Guard came over and started
shaking his gun at me.’
Passers-by reported how the would-be intruder said ‘Oh
you’re a big boy now’ to the soldier – thought to be
Scottish – who in turn replied ‘Yes I am a big boy’ before
pushing him.
Royal protection officers then ushered the man away,
though he was not arrested.
He told the newspaper that the incident on Friday was his
fifth attempt to get into the palace, and that before he
has
been so sure of being allowed in that he brought a
toothbrush with him.
Odunaiya claims that his past visits were made to lobby
the Queen over Syria, but that now he just wants help
going home to Nigeria – as he hates it in Britain.
It is unusual for soldiers to leave their post unless a Royal
is under threat, as the Metropolitan Police are responsible
for most issues related to guarding the palace.
But it is believed that the soldier who intervened has the
backing of his superiors.
The Metropolitan police said that they gave the man
‘words of advice’.
A spokesman said: ‘An incident occurred at the north
centre gate of Buckingham Palace at approximately
17.50hrs on Friday 4th April.
‘Officers from Royalty protection spoke to a male and he
was given words of advice. There were no arrests.’
Scotland Yard refused to elaborate on why the man was
not arrested.
A statement from the Army said: ‘We are aware of an
incident outside Buckingham Palace on Friday and while
no one came to any harm and there were no arrests, we
are very clear that the Metropolitan Police lead on Royal
Security arrangements including outside the Palace itself.

Panics at the Palace: How intruder after intruder has
scaled fences, stalked the gardens, been Tasered to the
floor… and even made it to the Queen’s bedroom
The armed confrontation is the latest security scare to
strike the palace, after a man was arrested in the grounds
last year, and another was shot with a Taser after holding
a knife to his own neck and shouting at passers-by.

Nigeria’s Economy Now The Biggest in Africa As GDP Soars To US$510 Billion, Beating South Africa’s US$353 Billion

Nigeria’s Economy Now The Biggest in Africa
As GDP Soars To US$510 Billion, Beating South
Africa’s US$353 Billion

Officials say Nigeria’s recalculated economy is worth $510
billion, by far the biggest in Africa and easily surpassing
that of previous continental titleholder, South Africa, at $
353 billion.

Figures announced Sunday are the first recount since
1990 of the GDP of Africa’s biggest oil producer but do
little for the 112 million Nigerians scrabbling to survive in
poverty.

The International Monetary Fund had used the 1990 base
to estimate Nigeria’s GDP in 2013 at $292 billion. But
that did not take into account new industries like
telecommunications, information technology, music,
airlines, burgeoning online retail outlets and Nollywood
film production that didn’t exist when the last GDP count
was made in 1990. Then, there were 300,000 landlines.

Today, Nigeria has 100 million cell phone users.

selling condoms

BRUSSELS—The top military commander of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization

BRUSSELS—The top military commander of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization said Wednesday that Russian forces could take large swath of Ukraine in three to five days.

U.S. Air Force Gen. Philip Breedlove, the Supreme Allied Commander in Europe, also said in an interview that he will recommend a “reassurance package” to NATO representatives by April 15. The measures will be aimed at enhancing the alliance’s response to Russia’s newly aggressive approach.

NATO officials also provided more details of a break in cooperation with Russia, saying they would suspend a joint program to train counternarcotics workers from Afghanistan. They will also halt a project providing spare parts and training for Afghan helicopter technicians, an initiative Russian President Vladimir Putin had called for continuing just last month.

Gen. Breedlove, who has warned of the threat from some 40,000 Russia troops massed near Ukraine’s border, said that force includes support for planes and helicopters as well as military hospitals and electronic warfare equipment.

Gen. Breedlove said the Russian force is in a high state of readiness and could move at any time. It could accomplish a major incursion into eastern or southern Ukraine, he said.

“We think that it is ready to go, and we think it could accomplish its objectives in between three and five days, if it was directed to make the actions,” he said.

The Kremlin has said in recent days that it is pulling back troops from the border, but Gen. Breedlove said only a small force has shown movement. “We have zero indication that it is moving to the rear or returning to barracks,” he added. “We cannot confirm in any way, shape or form that it is moving off the battlefield area.”

NATO foreign ministers this week directed Gen. Breedlove to craft a response plan, which could include moving NATO equipment and troops into Eastern Europe, beefing up exercises, surveillance and patrols, and speeding up NATO’s rapid-response force.

The plan, Gen. Breedlove said, will aim to counter the Russian practice o holding “snap exercises,” in which large forces quickly prepare for action Russia’s Crimea incursion shows that such exercises can be transformed into military operations, the commander said.

The strategy will build on actions NATO and its members have already taken, from increasing air policing over the Baltics to beefing up surveillance flights in Romania and Poland to dispatching U.S. warships to the Black Sea.

The trickiest question may be whether NATO should move troops into Eastern Europe, where the alliance currently has few installations. Countries like Poland are pushing hard for such a shift, but it would almost certainly be seen as highly provocative by Moscow.
