World’s most pierced man turned back at Dubai airport.

World’s most pierced man
turned back at Dubai airport.

Awww, not nice. Guess there are some
disadvantages to being so weirdly pierced.

53year old German Rudolf Buchlolz, who
is the world’s most pierced man, was
barred from entering Dubai on Aug. 15th
and he took to twitter to share his
disappointment. Continue…
The Information Technology, IT, worker
who was recognized in 2012 by the
Guinness Book of Record as world’s most
pierced man with 435 piercings plus two
horns on his forehead, was billed to make
an appearance at a hotel in Dubai but on
arriving the Emirate airport, he was not
cleared by the immigration officers.
Instead he was immediately whisked into
an Istanbul flight en-route Germany.

A spokesman for the hotel where Buchholz
was scheduled to appear said its
management had failed “despite all its
attempts” to win permission for him to
enter the emirate
Airport officials gave no reason why he was
refused entry into the emirate. Rudolf who
vowed never to return to Dubai, left his
luggage behind in Dubai.

Anti virus, Trojan Horse

I came across this gem on the Visa website :

Trojan Horse virus
What’s a Trojan Horse virus?
A Trojan Horse is an email virus
usually released by an email
attachment. If opened, it will scour
your hard drive for any personal and
financial information such as your
social security, account, and PIN
numbers. Once it has collected your
info, it is sent to a thief’s database.

Now, there are Trojan Horses and there are
viruses, but there's no such thing as a Trojan
Horse virus. In fact, the very definition of
each precludes any chance of there being
such a thing. A Trojan does not replicate.
Viruses do. That fact alone means there can
never be a "Trojan Horse virus".
The Visa description continues with, "A
Trojan Horse is an email virus usually
released by an email attachment." Not so. A
Trojan may be sent as an attachment in
email, but it's certainly not an email virus.

(In fact there are few true email viruses, but
that's a whole other topic). So it may or may
not arrive in email, and it's equally likely to
have been downloaded from a website or
resulted from a P2P file transfer. In other
words, vector has nothing to do with whether
something is or isn't a Trojan.
Just what is a Trojan then? A Trojan is a
program that appears to be legitimate, but in
fact does something malicious. Quite often,
that something malicious involves gaining
remote, surreptitious access to a user's
system. Unlike viruses, a Trojan does not
replicate (i.e. infect other files), nor does it
make copies of itself as worms do.
There are several different types of Trojans.

Some of these include: remote access Trojans
(RATs), backdoor Trojans (backdoors), IRC
Trojans (IRCbots), and keylogging Trojans.
Many Trojan encompass multiple types. For
example, a Trojan may install both a
keylogger and a backdoor. IRC Trojans are
often combined with backdoors and RATs to
create collections of infected computers
known as botnets.

But one thing you probably won't find a
Trojan doing is scouring your hard drive for
personal details, as the Visa description
alleges. Contextually, that would be a bit of
a trick for a Trojan. Instead, this is where
the keylogging functionality most often
comes into play - capturing the user's
keystrokes as they type and sending the logs
to the attackers. Some of these keyloggers
can be pretty sophisticated, targeting only
certain websites (for example) and capturing
any keystrokes involved with that particular
session.

But why is it important to know the
difference between a virus, a worm, and a
Trojan? Because a virus infects legitimate
files, thus if antivirus software detects a
virus, that file should be cleaned . Conversely,
if antivirus software detects a worm or a
Trojan, there is no legitimate file involved
and action should be to delete the file.

Mummies Unlocked By CT Scanners

Mummies Unlocked By CT Scanners

The British Museum uses medical
technology to reveal secrets of the ancient
Egyptians, including their high cholesterol
levels.

<p>Whether it is down to Hollywood blockbusters<br>
or Scooby Doo, our fascination with Egyptian<br>
mummies has lasted for more than 200 years.</p>
<p>Now the latest generation of CT scanners -<br>
normally used to check living patients - have<br>
been used by the British Museum, in London,<br>
to shed new light on one of its most popular<br>
collections.</p>
<p>The findings show we share rather more with<br>
the ancient Egyptians than you might expect,<br>
including high cholesterol levels and<br>
agonising toothache.</p>
<p>Eight of the museum's mummies have been<br>
virtually unwrapped - revealing secrets they<br>
took to the grave thousands of years ago.</p>
<p>An image illustrating how a mummy looks<br>
when being scanned<br>
Each long-dead individual was painstakingly<br>
transported to hospitals across the capital<br>
and placed - out of hours and late at night -<br>
inside the latest generation of CT scanners.</p>
<p>The unprecedented levels of resolution have<br>
shown some unexpected developments.<br>
They include the revelation that one of the<br>
mummies, found in a woman's coffin and<br>
believed for hundreds of years to be female,<br>
was in fact a man.</p>
<p>The first mummy entered the museum's<br>
collection in 1756, but for the past 200 years<br>
none of the mummies have been unwrapped<br>
because of the damage that would be done.</p>
<p>A mummy that lived between 3,500BC and<br>
700AD<br>
Now, cutting-edge visualisation techniques<br>
mean not only curators, but every visitor to<br>
the exhibition can peel away the wrappings<br>
and virtually explore what lies beneath.</p>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIb2tRvyLwF0WltPl6tMWu9NPWn9LnKG7oaUjegiwwVr48-HrjY03Z86ehQLO02XAET91hIo6BwB2MX8KoNQYwbZZn2_E2LUbPKo1NoqLMnZrHMq9dkJKGnIpkQDasCNA8TSnsj5yezQ4/s1600/cegrab-20140519-183202-689-1-522x293.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"> <img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIb2tRvyLwF0WltPl6tMWu9NPWn9LnKG7oaUjegiwwVr48-HrjY03Z86ehQLO02XAET91hIo6BwB2MX8KoNQYwbZZn2_E2LUbPKo1NoqLMnZrHMq9dkJKGnIpkQDasCNA8TSnsj5yezQ4/s640/cegrab-20140519-183202-689-1-522x293.jpg"> </a> </div>

<p>All of the mummies chosen once lived in the<br>
Nile Valley, between 3,500BC and 700AD.<br>
The exhibition reveals more about how they<br>
lived and died and shows the embalming<br>
process did not always go to plan -<br>
particularly for one man from Thebes.<br>
Curator Daniel Antoine told Sky News: "Facial<br>
visualisation reveals a tool still stuck in his<br>
head.</p>
<p>"There had been an attempt to remove his<br>
brain but during it one of the tools used to<br>
go through the nose appears to have snapped<br>
and surprisingly that tool is still lodged inside<br>
him."<br>
Like all of the adult mummies, the same man<br>
was found to have advanced dental decay -<br>
with four separate abscesses in his mouth.</p>
<p>Another two individuals still have calcified<br>
plaque on their bones, suggesting they may<br>
have suffered from cardiovascular disease.<br>
Neil MacGregor, director of the British<br>
Museum, said: "This new technology is truly<br>
groundbreaking, allowing us to reconstruct<br>
and understand the lives of these eight very<br>
different individuals.</p>
<p>"This is a project which has only been made<br>
possible through recent technological<br>
advances."</p>

Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema have not suffered serious injuries and should be fit for next Saturday's Champions League final against Atletico

MADRID: Real Madrid forwards Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema have not suffered serious injuries and should be fit for next Saturday's Champions League final against Atletico Madrid, coach Carlo Ancelotti said.

Alarm bells rang after Ronaldo, Real's top scorer, apparently hurt himself in the warm-up before Saturday's La Liga game at home to Espanyol but Ancelotti said it was nothing to be concerned about and the Portugal captain had merely been rested as a precaution.

Benzema limped out of the match with just over 20 minutes remaining with what Ancelotti described as a twinge in his adductor muscle.

"Cristiano wasn't comfortable in the warm-up and we decided not to take any risks," the Italian told a news conference.

"We are not worried because we think he can play the (Champions League) final," he added.

"Benzema had a twinge in the adductor and he shouldn't have any problem in playing the final."

Ancelotti said centre back Pepe, who has been suffering with a calf problem, was recovering well and the club were confident he could play against Atletico.
